Please allow me to point out that i do not wish to say this is the best way to make lesagne and more traditional lesagnes actaully do not involve cheese, but here is the way i do it
Ingredients
One large red onion
one hand full of tomatoes, I used 4 and 3 cherry tomatoes,
One Can of chopped of Peeled Plum Tomatoes
One Yellow Pepper
Three large cloves of garlic
one Piece of Broccoli
Lesagne (of course)
Milk
Corn Flour
Block of Cheddar and grated Mozzarella
Olive Oil
Main Mixture
Chop the Onion and crush the garlic, and fry lightly in Olive Oil.
Chop the brocolli and sit on top of the mixture, this needs to cook from as early as possible being a timely thing to cook you know.
Then chop the tomatoes in to sizable chunks and throw on. Continue to stir occasionally.
Add the yellow pepper chopped
then throw in the tin of Peeled Plum tomatoes or chopped tomatoes and cook for a further 5 minutes on a high heat, stirring regularly
The White sauce.
I usually have to call my mother as i forget this part but basically you need a lump of butter gently melted, a table spoon of corn flour and mix in, it will become a paste, I like to smooth it with a spoon.
add a "splash" of Milk and stir continuously,
grate some mature cheddar into the mix,
it will look lumpy but will melt with the heat. the amount of cheese is your choice, I like a lot. the mixture will turn slightly more viscous,
The Lesagne
start to layer the lesagne,
put olive oil soaked strips on the bottom this allows for slick serving later, and around the sides.
The last stage is to put it all together to make the lesagne,
layer the mixture over the strips of lesagne,I personally do three layers then a final strip of lesagne before the cheesy sauce. then of course, the mozzarella .
Throw it in an oven for about ten minutes, and as quick as you can start to sip on a glass of wine, you get something resembling the above.
I am literally about to eat this one ,,, munch munch etc
